In April, the Boardmore will audition young actors for the roles of Hamlet and Ophelia in William Shakespeare's Hamlet. The remaining roles will be cast in September.
We welcome auditioners between the ages of 16-26, of any ethnicity or gender. Priority will be given to current or incoming CBU students.
We seek eager performers who are skilled in communication and time management. Prior stage experience is an asset, but is not required. Bring a résumé if you have one.
Availability is key. Actors will rehearse over the Summer (on a flexible schedule), Fall and Winter (evenings and weekends). The performance dates (January 21-31, 2016) include some daytime matinees for student groups.
Auditioners should prepare one monologue from a different play by Shakespeare or a contemporary (ie. NOT from Hamlet). Memorization is not required, but you should be comfortable with the speech and have a good understanding of its meaning. You may also be asked to perform “cold” or unprepared readings.
April 11-12, 12:00pm-3:00pm
(April 11 slots are reserved for CBU students)
